Consultancy, Lisbon

You joined the programme. You published the report. Neither is producing anything yet.

That gap is the work. I build the operating machinery behind partnerships and sustainability commitments so they produce revenue and survive scrutiny. Sintese is the consultancy of Shamilka Samarasinha, an award-winning partnership and sustainability executive: twenty years, fifty countries, seven of them home.

What I do

How I help.

Partnerships & growth

Alliances only pay when someone works them. I run the ones that produce revenue.

  • Partner strategy across AWS, Microsoft, Infor, Databricks and Anthropic
  • Distribution and channel go-to-market, including TD Synnex
  • Tier attainment, co-sell motions and alliance ROI

Sustainability & ESG

Ratings and disclosures are procurement gates now. I build programmes that earn the score honestly.

  • ESG strategy and programme build from zero
  • EcoVadis, CDP and Science-Based Targets submissions
  • Carbon pathways and board-level reporting

Operations & supply chain

Two decades in sourcing and manufacturing, from factory floors to a twenty million dollar multi-country operation.

  • Sourcing strategy and supplier development
  • Responsible sourcing and supply chain due diligence
  • Operational efficiency and cost reduction

Advisory & social impact

Board-level counsel for companies building purpose into how they operate, not just how they report.

  • Non-executive and advisory board roles
  • Community and education programme design
  • Stakeholder engagement and crisis response

Who you'd be working with

I've built and run programmes in fifty countries, and lived in seven of them. Sri Lanka, Thailand, Fiji, Belarus, the UK, the US and now Portugal.

Now

I lead alliances and partnerships for bigspark, a data engineering and AI consultancy. That covers their AWS, Anthropic and Databricks channels, the distribution partnership I built with TD Synnex that took them to AWS Advanced Tier, and a set of enterprise partnerships with global consultancies and systems integrators.

In practice that means competency attainment, partner funding, marketplace presence and co-sell motions with vendor field teams. It is the machinery that turns a partner badge into actual pipeline, and it is the part most companies join a programme without ever building.

At Fortude, an Infor and Microsoft partner, I lead partnership and go-to-market across Iberia. At Vicerion, a medical technology company in its growth phase, I advise on strategy and scale.

What built it

Eight years as Global Head of ESG and Social Impact at EPAM Systems, a NYSE-listed technology company. I built the function from nothing across more than fifty countries and took it onto Barron's 100 Most Sustainable Companies. Eight years inside a US-listed business is also where I learned how public companies really handle regulation, investor scrutiny and disclosure.

Global alliance and ESG strategy at Quantori, running executive partnerships with AWS, Databricks and Microsoft across life sciences and healthcare.

Sustainability at Brandix Lanka, one of Sri Lanka's largest apparel manufacturers, where a workforce programme brought clean water to three hundred thousand people. That is the work that turned an interest into a commitment.

Country Manager in Thailand for Tesco, running a sourcing account worth over twenty million dollars across Thailand and Vietnam.

And where it started, at Mast Lanka, working across project management, sales and supply chain, and growing the Marks and Spencer account to fifteen million dollars in three years. Carrying a target that size early, while learning the business from three sides at once, is the foundation everything since has been built on.

I hold an MA from Leeds University and a BA from Hobart and William Smith Colleges. I sit on the board of the StemUp Educational Foundation in Sri Lanka and advise Experienz, a UK sustainability data platform.

Different industries, different decades, different rules. Through all of it, crisis response run through a pandemic, the Belarus political crisis and the war in Ukraine. What hasn't changed is the standard of the work. That is the only reason a career this varied holds together.

Working together

Two ways in.

Three to six months

Programme build

Fixed scope, defined outcome. It opens with a diagnostic: a hard look at what you already have and what it is actually producing, and a costed plan for closing the gap. Then the build itself, whether that is reaching the partner tier, standing up the ESG function or getting the channel motion running. It ends with a handover, so the thing works without me in the room.

Ongoing, a few days a month

Advisory retainer

Sitting alongside your leadership on partnership strategy, sustainability direction and the calls that benefit from someone who has made them before. Some clients start here. Others move here once a programme is built and they want it kept honest.

The first conversation is free and usually takes half an hour. Bring the thing that is not working.
